This trail starts out flat, but once you hit the switchbacks you've got about 1,800 feet of climbing to do. Follow the trail through the forest, and come out on top to enjoy the views of Edwards, Avon, Minturn, Meadow Mountain and Vail. All of that hard climbing is totally worth it!
Heading West on US I-70 in Vail Colorado head east on the northern frontage road to Buffehr Creek Road. <br /><br />Turn left heading north for two tenths of a mile to the North Vail Trail Buffehr Creek parking area. Parking is <br /><br />from 7 AM to 11 PM, and only three hours (as of 060110, new rules) with no overnight parking. Hiking trip <br /><br />on this route takes 3 hours, biking takes about 1.5 depending on your skills.
